Investigation of Self-Esteem and Assertiveness Levels among Emergency Healthcare Personnel

Objective: It has been determined that self-esteem and assertiveness level of the individual significantly affect his/her environment. In this study, our goal is to determine levels healthcare personnel in Emergency Department.Methods: Our study a prospective analytical observational study. The population included nurses, emergency medicine residents, specialists faculty member working Department. three-part questionnaire form consists 54 questions. Data were collected using personal information containing socio-demographic characteristics (14 questions), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) (10 questions) Rathus Assertiveness Schedule (RAS) (30 questions).Results: 217 participants included. median RSES scores individuals was found be 31 (10-40) RAS 20 (-42-69). Most did not receive any training on or (79.3% 88%, respectively). Majority stated they have difficulty expressing themselves. those who needed lower (p <0.001). than not, difference statistically significant <0.001).Conclusion: Self-esteem professionals department are high. Although individuals' education about does change their assertiveness, with low feel need for these issues.
